To confirm what is in Jim's book, check the 1935-1941 Packard Parts Book Gr.30.401. This section gives the part numbers for the friction type vent windows,(same as 110&120)used on all early 160 conv. sedans (1377) and conv. coupe (1379). The car in question also has the correct door panel design that was used on all early cars. I have info. on 22 cars the highest # 1377-2173.............

Whoa!

This changes the way I look at the 1940 senior convertibles and the "dreaded" missing vent crank handle.

Mr. Darrin180 has delivered the news that Stevep516 wanted to hear: he is probably looking at an early senior car. Remember the casting date on the engine was August 1939.

Shown below is a page from the Parts Book and it shows two vent windows to fit the senior convertibles - sedan-1377 and coupes 1379.

Glad I learned this.
