I did not purchase a kit. What I have is what I removed from the original car. ***** Take more photos***** I should have and did not. Thought I could easily remember order. I also think I am only 21 years old. A box of parts with extra pieces confuses my elderly mind. That is why I respect and appreciate the comments and knowledge of the members of this site.
I did find Plate No. 14 - Front Axle cutaway diagram in the information booklet I bought. Using a magnifying glass I could see there are washers on both sides of the brake shoe. The inside one is restrained by the land on the pin attached to the support plate. It appears that having washers on both sides the brake shoe is limited in inner-outer movement and the slotted brake shoe allows for the movement and retraction of the shoe when the brakes are applied.
I expect to have the front axles completed tonight. Will post a photo when done.
