If you could describe or post a photo of the heater you have questions about someone might be able to come up with an official schematic. If not, if it was Packard supplied we may be able to come up with something from another year which in all probability would be similar if not the same as the 41 item. Packard might have made cosmetic changes but made very few changes year to year on how they functioned or were connected.

In the worst case and nothing official is available we could provide info on how it would most likely be connected to work. That is one thing to be aware of. If an item was installed by a dealer it may or may not have followed Packards recommended installation procedure. The mechanics prior experience and operator preference had a lot to do with dealer installs.

Here is a page from the 41 data book showing heaters Packard officially offered for 41s. If a dealer had something in stock -- maybe a lower cost aftermarket item -- maybe something from a different year -- if it would fit, while not factory supported in all cases, it was frequently installed. And, back in the era you could also buy accessories like heaters from the corner gas station or garage, chain stores like Sears etc, and even mail order like JC Whitney. With the depression and war, it has also become apparent from photos that have been posted some owners recycled and removed heaters from an older car and reinstalled it in a newer model.
