That's scary! Makes you wonder what other wonderful things the prior owner(s) did.
The Packard was practically undriveable when I bought it. The seller did take good care of the car's appearance. I knew it had good bones and could do most all of the mechanical work needed. I went through all the systems and got all the maintenance and service up to date and made necessary repairs. The missing cotter pins was the biggest safety item I found. It has been trouble free since then, except when the distributor decided to come apart. Half the fun of having a Packard is working on it, the other half is driving it.
