Re: Converting 1938 2+2 coupe back to original rumble seat

I probably wasn't too clear about restoring the rumble seat. The car is a 1938 super eight model 1604 body style 1118. The original rumble seat was removed and replaced with a trunk. The sheet metal below the rumble seat was cut out and welded to the rumble seat door and attached to car (ugly) to form a trunk lid. We have a replacement rumble seat door and original brackets which have been mounted to the car to fit in the original rumble seat opening. My question concerns the replacement of the sheet metal decking below the rumble seat and what water drainage should be considered. Originally the car must have had something to handle water that got around the molding. We noted a drain line below the rear roll down window (original?). We need to clarify before completing the replacement sheet metal on the rear decking.
