O_D mentions the Long clutch and having yours rebuilt. I would second that suggestion. 40 was apparently a year of supplier issues and parts shortages. There was swapping between Long and Borg and Beck clutch assys and various combinations thereof.

An article in one of the service letters or counselors breaks it down by a suffix letter next to motor number telling which model had what item leaving the factory. Even that may not be accurate because you don't know if later on a dealer went back to stock or found it necessary to make a swap. The two were not necessarily interchangeable so you might order the correct item by the manual only to find it didn't fit.
