Hi all,
As requested by Fred reporting back on the progress of sorting out the hard starting. Firstly removed all the plugs and found them a bit sooty as Fred suggested and the gaps all over the place. Cleaned and reset and then had a look at the ignition points. Found the gaps a bit on the narrow side and a slight pip on the centre cleaned and reset to correct gaps. I suppose I should have re-synchronised them at this point but I was not too certain on what the easiest way to do that was (info on the simplest way to do this would be much appreciated). However there was an oil change due on the list for winter so I went for a start up from cold to warm up the motor and she started up straight away with no problems just like she used to.
Thanks for the info on the choke setting Dave that will be very useful if I have to re-set the choke but it seems OK at the moment so I decided to abide by the old maxim if it aint broke don't fix it.
Once again guys thanks for all the help
regards
T
