Re: 38 Twelve sump in car removal

Unfortunately..this did not work with my 38 as my front engine mount must have sagged slightly ( cannot understand why after only 78 years). I was advised on the QT by a previously well known Twelve owner (PH) that you need to jack up the front end, undo the four nuts holding the steering crank to the crossmember and the crank with intact tie rod ends can be moved forward to clear the sump. It worked well where disconnecting the tie rod end did not give enough clearance. Nonetheles sincere thanks for your advice, which appeared to work for your 39 Twelve. Let's keep those Pre-War Seniors on the road. I am chasing a set of engine splash aprons for a friends 38 Twelve....any clues?
Best regards, Peter Toet.
