The box is steel, it has a flat bottom and the vertical corners are slightly rounder at the corners with only one vertical seam one the engine side face. If you wanted to make one and keep it authentic you would need a drawing which I would be happy to make but I am away from my 740 at present and not likely to have access for a couple of months.
The isolation switch is not original and is simply fitted at the back of the box near the top edge with the handle accessible behind the spare, assuming it has side mounts.
A similar set up on a 633 is much more cramped, also with both, the switch takes up significant space inside the box so a smaller than original battery is needed or an Optima.
