And if the loop is not there or possibly broken, some bellhousings have a small hole on the passenger side of the large transmission hole where an ordinary 3/16 clevis pin inserts. The head of the pin is recessed and held by the transmission being bolted over it. The spring loop goes in the hole in the pin. Gusha's drawing shows that arrangement and you could duplicate it if the cast loop is missing.
