22-23rd series water pump ?

Some where I've heard a 1948-49 water pump will work on a
282cid ? I've had two changes of 282" pumps, leak packing problems or rear oiler leaks water.
Thought if 22-23 series 288" pumps would work, that may solve both leak problems.
Thanks in advance before I have to take it off again, it's real close to radiator & I just find it much more difficult than when I was younger.
