1938 Super Eight 2-4 coupe storage bin lock

Trying to remove lock from bin lid behind the front seat. No pin holes found. Locksmith said it might be pressed on. Retaining nut has been loosened but can't be removed so lock will not pass through hole in lid due to lock construction. Lock needs to be separated from pull grip/keyway. Don't want to destroy lock or lid. Entire lock set needs to be removed for new fabric. Any help greatly appreciated.
