1941 120 Rear Brake Problem

Greetings All,

I've been having some problems with the RR brake shoes failing to release when I let off the brake pedal. To date, I've replaced the master cylinder, wheel cylinders and brake lines. The brake shoes are in good shape so I did not have them relined.

When I tested the rear brakes, I can move the wheel in the forward direction, but it will lock up if I try to make it go backward. I noticed that the pins that go into the wheel cylinder seem to be getting a lot of resistance when I attached the springs to the point at the center top.

Is it possible that there is too much fluid in the cylinder causing the shoe not to come back to the resting position? I updated to the DOT 5 silicone fluid.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

Gene
