Might want to tap the brakes on your indignation:

1. I wasn't draining the oil, I was draining the coolant.
2. I was catching what I drained is a basin, not draining it onto the ground.

I was carrying the plug along with some tools and other parts and dropped it whilst walking to my garage.

You're out of line chief.
