Hi Tom,

I have disassembled it on my car and in order to get the shaft out I did jack the body up on the passenger side.

Since I had the pieces off I had them powder coated. When I went to reassemble them the coater went past the mark I told them to stop at on the shaft so I had to sand it back some in order to reassemble it.

For the life of me I can't recall if I jack the body up when I reinstalled it.

Can't tell by your picture but do you have the brake lever slide as far over to the middle of the shaft as possible.

That is not possible because the diameter of the shaft is larger in middle then the outer ends.
