David, thanks a lot. Today I found a picture of a 1924 Packard Viktoria. There was also a picture which confirmed your information about the Data Plate. The Car is a left hand driver. What means ... the steering is on the "right" side !! 
. On the picture you can see the steering column and the data plate. It looks like the plate is on the same place as on the right hand driver model. Would be great if you can give me the locating dimensions.
