The 1939 Twelve formal sedan pictured in post #13 is the first 1939 Twelve formal sedan, VN 1232-2001. I mentioned it was built, as were many 1939 Twelves, on a leftover 1938 body. In fact, its body serial number or theft-proof number is considerably earlier than Colin's 1938 Twelve formal sedan, not entirely an uncommon situation with 1938 Super 8s and Twelves and 1939 Twelves, all sharing the same coachwork.

Perhaps this bears on the trunk lid emblem question?
