I looked at the parts book and the wingless one is 15th series only. Part number 235097, for the base

The '38 one is 235961 and has wings and it is the same part number as the '39.

All 3 series (15,16 and 17) use the same emblem 235096.

I looked at my car and found no holes in the outer trunk lid but a large and smaller hole in the trunk lid inner. My car does not appear to have been repainted and there is no evidence of filling in of any holes in the outer skin.
