Thanks for adding the photos. Its the typical rather crude modification to older heavy sedans that were still in good enough condition to repurpose for other tasks but had little resale value. This originally five passenger four door sedan likely delivered goods for a grocery, bakery, florist in an urban area in the 1930's - 1940's in its second life. It might also have been a home-built hearse for a small funeral home operation. Motor and Chassis numbers would be helpful to identify model and year of manufacture.
