If you take a picture of the location in the fender, I'll check on my '32 901. I don't recall any of those going into wood.

EDIT - They all have hex heads and would be 1/4 28 bolts, but give me a pic and I'll double check.

EDIT More Thoughts I seem to also remember weld nuts in a few locations.
