That is some nice machining and the finished product looks first class! Thanks for sharing. In my work life, I was involved with companies that case-hardened surfaces like that for valve bodies and pipe linings that were conveying highly abrasive slurries, etc., and I never saw the metals separate. As you say, I think it is a 'tried and true' process that has been around for a very long time. Chris.
