We've come to realize lately that our beloved 645 Deluxe Eight may not be as original as our predecessors advertised it to be over 16 years ago. There's been quite a questionable repaint done on the chassis, tie rods, and most the undercarriage is over-sprayed with the same "orange creaminess". After noticing these details after a thorough inspection and service, we're debating if this is even a 1929 color in the first place. Any insight in the production of this runabout chassis would be most appreciative. Unfortunately, this was one of the first cars entered in the collection in early 2004, it was actually purchased on eBay in '03 - ergo, provenance is a little thin.
Thank you for your time and thoughts.
