I guess I've gone the opposite direction. I switched from a modern coil, and put an original coil in. It always bothered me that it wasn't working "as designed." The one I had looked like NOS, so i had an electrical engineer look at it and test it out, and he said "good to go." So far so good. Works great.
It's good to know there's places like KM that can either rebuild it, or supply reproduction.
