Sidemount lock question

Forgive me for not fully researching first, I hope maybe a simple question/answer. Request is to clarify applications for long and short length sidemount locks. Me thinks 33-36 senior, 35-41 junior(have to check 40-41) and big hole in my brain/experience with 37-39 seniors. I was just going through my sidemount hardware box trying to sort through some stuff...
