West's photo shows the original first version of the plumbing which turned out to be an issue on some engines. Unknown would be which filter canister is present because they did try some changes there before deciding to reroute the plumbing. If there have been no problems with noisy lifters by now a canister change either fixed the issue or it is one of the unaffected engines. At any rate there would appear to be no reason to change anything at this late date.

On the engine having a "split flow" I am still unsure of what that means. If it means you have the direct pigtail going to the lifter gallery port and a filter in parallel also dumping into the port then that should take care of any noisy lifter issues but with essentially the same pressure on both sides of the filter I would wonder exactly how much flow is going thru the filter. If my understanding of the plumbing is wrong then I would need a photo or a drawing of your plumbing to offer any suggestions other than to consider following the factory diagram that was posted earlier. That diagram shows the final routing after several other attempts to solve the oil flow issue and lasted almost unchanged thru 54.
