'40 110 advice needed

I pulled the entire front clip off the 110 this morning, assisted by my favorite wrenches, my Dewalt electric impact hammer and my Harbor Freight grinder. The major work in this phase will include the installation of the replacement engine and a rebuild of the entire front suspension, re-wiring, etc. Using an engine hoist it was quite easy. A remarkable amount of dirt / crud was still within the front end and on the frame, despite two hours of pressure/steam cleaning everything I could get to a few years ago.

During disassembly of the front end, I attempted to remove the LF headlight assembly but it appears the large nut that secures it is one enormous mass of rust.

I wanted to get advice on disassembling this, as the cracked-in-many-places fender, as well as the cracked-in-many-places radiator shell will see some quality time with my wire feed welder, and it's not possible to repair the assembly intact. Given what I'm seeing on the main body and the fenders, I anticipate adding another layer of sheetmetal for strength where the original body only had a single thin layer of steel.

I assume that I can remove the headlight bezel, headlight and wiring, and then get a socket on that fitting after wire removal, is that correct? I will soak the heck out of it with an ATF/Acetone mix which has served me well.

Any advice on this?
