Flywheel Hole?

Posted by Bob J On 2023/5/28 15:47:23
In going over the flywheel out of my '37 120 I noticed a blind hole 0.365" diameter x 0.530" deep bored into the 'engine' side of the face in the area of the timing marks. Does anyone know what this was for? Was it used as an index to align the stamping of the timing marks? Just curious as to why it was carefully machined into the part.
Thanks,
Bob J.
