The embossed numbers are what is called the body identification or more commonly called today, the theft proof number. Unfortunately while the only number that is not removable, it was only used in the factory and most of the records that would reference it to a particular car have been lost. Without the patent plate there is no way to tell what the official vehicle number was but if the small ID tag (D) installed by Briggs when the body was made is found that would possibly be the same or at least within a few digits of the official number.
