The tube in the manifold is just for pulling heated air into the choke so, as long as the tube running through the manifold is intact and not sucking in exhaust, it is not too important for simply test-running the engine other than the choke wall take longer to open. The connection just fits relatively loosely inside so no fittings there at all.
