Tried to PM you with a picture of the throttle linkage / gear. Couldn't figure out how / if I could insert a picture.
Here's a picture showing the linkage that goes from the partial gear on the bottom of your steering column to the throttle linkage mounted on the firewall. This linkage is required for the hand throttle on the steering wheel to work correctly.
