Along these same lines, I just sent my 37 Temp gauge off to Chris Connors to rebuild it. He let me know he has to outsource these particular ones as he has had a problem with rebuilding these ones himself. Another rebuilder (now retired from taking direct customer work) will take them from other rebuilders and fix them.

From what he told me, something about these specific prewar ones need to be "over-charged" with ether in order for them to have their full working sweep.

But he was upfront about the outsourcing, which I appreciate.
