The car (in the original post) appears to be a 1929 640 touring. The window in the rear is just an accessory windshield... no cowl. The spare-tire cap is standard for the spare on disc wheels and artillery wheels, and has a lock on it.

The car in the photo that Mal brought up from the archives is just plane wrong. Someone has taken a disc wheel spare cover and put it on a wire wheel. It is my opinion that car was restored in a most distasteful way, as well. But that's just my opinion.
