I got mine when I was 25. I'm now 26 and driving my 48 deluxe 8 almost every day. It's certainly a hit with the old guys to see me driving around. Every single time I refuel somebody has to come over and ask about it, therefore I don't drive it when I'm in a hurry to get somewhere. But my favorite is when the old guys start off with "I remember when my daddy got his first packard, it was just after the war". And I do enjoy the stories I hear from them. Sometimes the conversation will stray towards old cars that nobody sees anymore. Sometimes it's just about packards, often times it's my drivetrain that strikes ones fancy. My favorite is " how long ago did your grandfather give that to ya?" The truth is I sought it out, knowing I wanted something few have.


Congrats on your find, I suggest GET IT! Your going to love it for many many years. And than you and I may be the only ones left driving these works of art and true examples of americana in it's hayday.
