Thanks a lot for the information. Yes, the rear bumper guard is what I was refering to, and it does look similar to the front bumper central guard.

Howard, the pic of the accesory book you post shows a very similar one, only the fixing mechanism to the bumper appears to be different. I am enclosing a pic of the one I have (which of course, up to this point, I am not sure if it is correct for the 1940 models or not).

Question here is, was this option still available for 1940? The 1940 rear bumper has the Packard script and a central bumper guard wouldn't have looked good with that... so was it ever offered?

Thinking of adding two of them, one on each side of the Packard name, instead of the rear bumper guards, would be incorrect?
