From your picture it looks like the screwdriver slot was stripped out and there was some damage to the threads.

I had this happen on another carb. during a rebuild. I faced off the end of the jet, re-cut the screwdriver slot and ran a die down the threads to clean them up.

Re-used the jet with no problems.
