yes i saw your blog on the radiator. thanks. ;0) yes i hope to be in Salado.
today i painted the radiator....the shop did a crappy job painting it and it was rusting on the side support brackets. so i took some steel wool to it and then painted it lightly. i didn't paint the fins, the shop did that.
i also went scowering the autoshops for a 5/16 to 1/4 elbow for the fuel pump...don't know where mine went. 5 bucks for the dumb thing....but it was local at Oreily's if anyone ever needs one on the road. autozone didn't have jack.
got my E1095 K&N filter yesterday. it didn't fit in the top pan from edelbrock like the other one. i noticed this filter had a belved edge all the way around. which works out for the inside as it fits the curve of the bottom half of the Packard breather. it made it difficult to keep the edelbrock lid on though. so i ever so carefully bent out the tang on the edelbrock lid to match the curve on the filter and it stayed perfect.
this filter and lid with the packard top on site right on the bottom of the packard top. perfect! couple of turns of the wing nut and it was all down. gonna be breather very free now and never really have to touch the thing like oil bath or paper filter. and maybe i'll gain some performance out of it. idk.
