OK, Dave. Thanks. I'll try opening the plug again. Last time some gas came out. Should NO gas come out of the hole? If some, how much? I was so concerned trying to get the plug back in, I didn't look.

I'll warm up the car. The hot manifold concerns me if gas spurts out. I'll let it cool a bit, then restart with a pan or towel alongside the carb.

Off to work now.
