yeah i can get a bit frustrated at times, youth....what you gonna do. this weekend was a good weekend though. maybe i shouldn't have said that out loud.

had to do some maintenance to the z3...waterpump, etc, but on sunday it was 75 and rainy and cool.....garage doors up....Packard work commenced.

had the kiddo out there with me in the morning and sent him inside when i was ready to weld in what was my poor excuse for a patch to weld up that hole in the front portion of the rocker. took me about 1 hour to form that thing and cut it to fit. it isn't pretty, but it was my VERY first time EVER forming metal like that. plus i had a bunch of unseen rot that i had to just keep welding and welding and welding. i know....probably not right, but idgas...its covered and nobody will see it.

yes i will grind it down. also the inside of that panel will be filled with herculiner as i removed all the old rubberized material. this will keep the water out.

it'll get it all smoothed out when i'm done.

then the wife and the kiddo came back out and helped me stripped off the crudy rubberized coating on the floor. that passenger's pan is worse then i thought. may get a new one instead of fixing all that stuff. its pretty rotted.

i left the rubberized coating where it was still thick and good. no reason to burden myself on something i will coat over with herculiner and that nobody will see. it wasn't easy doing what we did....and that was with a huge scrapper and heat gun.

i removed the seat mount. it will need some reinforcing on the mounting feet before i trust it to not rip out of the floor incase of a wreck. its pretty rotted as well. and i will replace the studs with new bolts as well.

anyone know why there is this little rectangle flap on the passengers floor pan near that blank body mount? there are also two rivot heads on that side that aren't on the driver's side. i have to replace that little flap as its rotted and just wondered what it was for.
