Also in the process of doing the vent windows, I think I figured out why some have a "wind" driven whistle sound, especially after replacing the frame rubber. It has to do with how high the vent window sits compared the shape of the rubber.

When I reassembled mine just like they were I noticed a small hole/gap on the bottom right near where the pivot shaft is. No matter how much you tighten the bottom bolt, it wont make a difference. That just makes the window hard to open. But on the shaft there are two "keyed" spacers that act as a rotation stop for the window. With both of those installed, the window sits up a little too high for the shape of the new rubber. If you remove one of the stop/spacers, the window will sit a tad bit lower, and the gap is eliminated. I really think that small hole/gap is the source of the whistle people get when the seals are old (shrink), or new aftermarket rubber is installed (slightly different shape).

Hope this helps if you notice a gap in a similar place on yours and have the vent window whistle symptom.
