Dave,
At the risk of Proving I'm dumb as a rock, if the screw is already touching the axle flange, how can I push the axle IN any further? The screw is on the tool, the tool is bolted to the axle. How can the axle get any closer?

I have a couple days to figure this out, but in the meantime, do I just keep whacking outward on that inner seal? The outer one is really encrusted. I suspect the inner one is too.
