Thanks for posting up, I continue to enjoy this tread.
I had a Furd Escort winter beater years ago that had a rusty dipstick.(A bad sign) Used about a Qt per 250 miles.
I saved all my fairly clean drain oil & "recycled" it through the engine as it was not gonna hurt that motor!
