i dunk what i can in purple power and leave for a few days to degrease. then i wash the parts with water. then i let dry and sand blast them.

compressor is 1.5hp 30 gallon 155psi. set at 120 line pressure and used fine metal grit. can't remember the name of it, but i got it at harbor freight or maybe northern tool and it comes in a bucket. its metal, but in the size of grains of sand. leaves a very fine texture to paint on.

i have read just about every page of your 115 blog, actually was going to go back and see what rings you used on your pistons had you got them from Kanter.

had i not caught the issue with the oil rings...i'm afraid i would have worse then an oil leak.

Kanter has sent out the proper oil rings today.

Looking good! On the distributor and starter, did you bead blast? What kind of media did you use, and how much pressure/how big of a compressor did you use?

Good luck on the motor! If you look back at the blog on my 115c (now sold), mine also fought me, but at the end it ran smooth and quiet with no leaks. You're going about it right, you'll get there.
