thanks guys, that makes perfect sense! fuel pump was rebuilt, including vacuum section. wipers did not work before, but there was no manifold hook up to the pump....only from the IN to the wipers. here's to hoping they work after this.

if not i guess the motor itself needs a rebuild along with checking the lines under the dash.
