Guys, don't forget on your 55 and back Packards, if you change the rear axle bearings and races you must check the axle end-play, adjusted by adding or subtracting shims. Maybe you should check it anyway, perhaps the last guy to do it wasn't all that bright. It's very easy to make a tool to check the endplay, but you can also do it by feel. Too much or too little will make short work of your nice new bearings.
