So I rented an ozone generator to try to reduce the stink in the car, worked fairly well. will probably need another treatment later on. inspected and re-taped the limit switches on the compensator, put in a new bearing and worm gear also before repacking,(thanks Ross)
purchased new solenoids, then installed. found a service letter after saying they should be turned so the lip is not pointing up so will have to change them around.
the replacement compensator lever should arrive today.

in the process of scraping crud off in an effort to remove the transmission and oil pan. the service manual says to drain the converter but I am am having trouble seeing up into that area.

when scraping up around the transmission I found these orange wires buried under the crud. where do they go or come from?

the exhaust manifold heat control valve is toast, will need to find a source for a replacement
