Some of the brake component suppliers specifically say to only use a certain fluid or they will void the warranty or that their product has not been tested with fluids other than the recommended and results using something else cannot be guaranteed.

If Kanter did not specify a fluid and has no restrictions in their literature to the contrary then I would go with the silicone fluid strictly because it is not hygroscopic to the same extent the DOT 3/4 fluids are known to be. You may sacrifice life on the hydraulic brake switch if you keep it stock though. A change to one of the all mechanical switches operated by the pedal arm would solve that issue.

With the high humidity in your area and silicone fluid not attracting moisture it would probably buy a longer time between fluid changes and less potential damage or corrosion in the wheel cylinders.
