Understood, the cheek panels will cover that area.
A very good spot for it with you having the split bench seat though.
Hey, could you make a bracket that allows the extinguisher to mount on the back of the passenger side of the split bench?
It would be out of the way for general access through the driver's side yet easy to get to in an emergency behind the passenger seat.
If you mounted the bracket so the cylinder fit low, close to the floor on the seat back it would keep the centre of gravity the same so as not to cause the seat to change its natural drop into an upright position. I know it is not original but a very practical safety improvement.
I am still puzzling where to put one on mine as I have the regular seat so it will likely have to mount on the cheek panels in the rumble seat compartment accessible when you open the lid.
