The oil tube is removable from the guage. The temp tube is NOT. You have to loosen the temp tube fitting at the motor and then carefully feed it back through the firewall. Don't kink or break that tube line otherwise you'll have to send that and the guage out for repair.

If the temperature sensing bulb has not been out of the head in years there is a good chance it is stuck in place by calcium deposits. Be careful trying to remove it. Even with use of penetrating fluid or possibly multiple soaks for a few days before removal attempts with one of the calcium and lime deposit removers the bulb will not want to budge. Hopefully it will come out but if it happens the bulb is well stuck, there are very few options other than continued soaking and trying before you wind up destroying the bulb or the tube twists off. When that happens it is a trip to an instrument repair company of which there are several who people on the forum can recommend.
