For Packard front clip removal notes:

Look in the Literature Archive for "1936 Shop Manual"
Download it and scroll down to page 39 and look under heading "Remove Damper or Timing Chain" for directions. The assembly will be much heavier at the front, and Packard had a fixture for lifting the assembly that attached just above the radiator tank. Some strong nylon rope or strap would do to use a come along or hoist to lift with... or several people could do it.
