Barrie
I've replaced trunk gaskets on two cars and in both cases they were "too thick" when installed, but compressed after the lids were closed for a while. The gaskets need to be thick so that they still seal after being compressed.
I would think it over two or three times before trimming the gaskets- they might leak after compressing.
Like the color a lot

Barrie, I apologize. It;s late here and I guess I'm too thick too, My local friendly guru reminded me that your'e dealing with generic gaskets.
But I still like the green..
